How to hide surfing websites visited from an employer?
HKK - 2006-01-11 15:13:57 - InternetHow can one hide 'certain' website surfing activity from an employer (if one was to do such things in the office). I know how to delete history, clear cookies etc...but if one is liked to the employees network then they could in theory have a record of wherever one went in one's surfing. Is there anyway (easily e.g. download a network friendly piece of software) to prevent this happening? Regards thanks in advance A

Window Washer is very good. If your company monitors internet activity, then it won't help. There are some services where you install a program on your computer and make sure that it's running all the time. Called a "tunnel", it encrypts all transmissions between your computer and the service's server(s). All your company would see is that there was traffic between your PC and a web address. They wouldn't be able to tell what it was. If you're looking at child porn or something else illegal, don't. The government has subpoenas and very powerful computers for decrypting.
