Jesus says "Love thy neighbor, like thyne own self"...?
Jeffro - 2007-01-20 14:24:10 - Religion SpiritualityWhat if your neighbor dosen't believe in Jesus or the Bible? who has an opinion on that? Very well.
Best Answer:
Love your neighbor. It isn't conditional on what your neighbor believes or doesn't believe Jesus said that the most important commandments is to love God with all your heart, mind, soul strength and love your neighbor as your self. Bear ye one anothers burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

You are supposed to love others no matter what.
It doesn't matter whether or not they believe in Jesus... we still have to watch out for them and care for them.

Love him (her) anyway.

Jesus also says "Love your enemies. Pray for those who persecute you." I don't think you can get out of loving your neighbor, even if they're an "enemy".

God Bless You

“Put an end to evil, fulfill all good, and purify the mind” is Lord Buddha's advice, and it is still so universal and timeless, that anyone can benefit from it, whether you are Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Taoist, or Buddhist. It is worth to note that through times

Doesn't say, "Love thy neighbor only if they are a Christian". It says "Love thy neighbor".

Confucious said same thing
also do not do to others that which you deem harmful to self
but the Crusades kind of makes you really re-consider what christianity was used for

You love all people, even your enemies, but that does not mean that a Christian should have to take guff off someone. Humility means to be teachable, not to be used as a door mat

You should teach him.
Share the Gospel with your neighbor.
Remember the "Great Commission", it's not always in another country.

How could a believer in Jesus ever expect anyone to be attracted to his or her religion if all that comes out of the mouth is hell and damnation for all who don't accept immediately the dogma or catma that is spewing out of the mouth of the angry so called believer in Jesus? Jesus encouraged us all to love one another so that upon His return we could accept Him as one people. We had our chance and we blew it. Now it is time for the trumpet blast and all those who think themselves saved who condone the practice of or practice evil in secret and in the open are doomed to spend eternity in the nethermost regions away from the Glorious Creator. What will the trumpet sound like to you? It will sound like something you have ignored your whole life so at first you won't hear it and then it will be too late.

I will go even further....Matthew 5:44-46 "You have heard the law says love your neighbour and hate your enemy, but I say love your enemy, pray for those who persecute you. In that way you will be acting as true children of you Father in Heaven."

you obey what the bible says .It says love your neighbor as yourself, that means to treat your neighbor well like you want to be treated...I don,t see anywhere in the Bible thats says only do this if they believe in me?It does not matter what they believe, all you need to be concerned about is that you do what the Bible says...

Your neighbor is anyone you come in contact with; if they have need that you can meet but they don't believe like you do then you still help them if you can. You put their need before your own if it's needed.
johnocreagh - 2007-01-20 14:45:26
Jesus would never have used an adjective where an adverb was needed.
deanr610 - 2007-01-20 15:16:27
If they are not believers, they will not love me as they love themselves.
Do you love your neighbors in the same way you love yourself?
Beng T - 2007-01-20 15:27:05
Jesus did not say "love thy neighbour only if he believes in Jesus or the Bible". He said love thy neighbour and when someone asked him "who is my neighbour?" thinking he could find an excuse to not love someone because he ould say that person was not his neighbour, Jesus told the parable of the good Samaritan in reply. The Samaritans were a people dispised by the Jews to whom Jesus was talking. Jesus also said "love your enemies".

Their beliefs has nothing to do with you. You love anyway. It doesn't take anything away from you to love others, regardless of who they are.
